Pastel Edge

Friday, 05 September 2014 11:28

Vivienne Mackinder transforms the recent trend of chalking into an edgy, high-fashion look. Chalking, like make-up but for the hair, allows for the client to try something exciting and new for the night.

Pastel Edge embraces the chalk’s inherent playfulness and bursts with energy. Watching teens experiment and have fun with hair colouring inspired Vivienne to infuse the light-hearted joy of youth with an edgy twist to classic principals. Often, clients aren’t comfortable talking risks with the colour of their hair, but the impermanence of chalking installs the  confidence to take chances and dare to be bold.

The collection includes styling variations of the same cut with each transforming the chalk hair from clean and smooth to sexy with movement. Also, Vivienne demonstrates how chalked colour can accentuate strong, geometric lines or enhance the fun playfulness of a bob.
