Sally Adams Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa

Sunday, 10 March 2013 22:51

Sally Adam’s Salon has recently undergone a complete "dream-become-reality" makeover. A high-end, quality salon in perfect harmony with Aveda’s ethos of respect for the environment and well-being.

The salon, which located in Cobham, is in a prominent location in the centre of Surrey. Sally Adam’s Salon is as impressive as it is noticeable with a dual frontage. Since the makeover, both the interior and the exterior of the salon are even more stylishly eye-catching than before.

The refurbishing was totally financed by the business, the redesign ensures an efficient and practical use of space, as well as an aesthetically balanced decorative flow. The salon’s welcoming reception features a hand-crafted oak desk, comfortable Barcelona guest chairs and an accessible Aveda retail zone, stylishly designed in rolled steel and oak, with back-lit glass shelving displaying the full range of tempting and redolent Aveda products.

On the ground floor, the salon has three distinct areas: the front is predominately for styling, the middle houses super-luxurious reclining Takara Belmont backwashes and the rear provides the technical section for hair colour work. First floor is home to two treatment rooms and a manicure/pedicure area.

Throughout the salon, the shades mirror the natural world and reflect the Sally Adams brand - warm greys, soft silvers and taupe. Along with a mix of tiles, finely textured wallpaper and paint chosen to suit an area’s functionality. And floors are a mix of tile and wood, practical, functional and able to withstand the wear and tear of considerable foot traffic. Additional special features include the installation of an environmentally friendly and energy efficient LED lighting system; Wi-Fi; power showers in the treatment rooms; two megaflow water heaters to ensure a plentiful supply of hot water; state-of-the-art B&O music system and an electronic point of sale/booking system powered by Shortcuts at the reception.

We decided to refit to provide a more functional workspace, an enlarged technical area and to freshen up the look for our clients. We are a high-end, quality, customer-focused business with a discerning clientele - those clients are our business and deserve a salon to match their expectations.” says Sally Adam’s partner and salon co-owner, Adam Powell.

“Along with Aveda, Adam and I have strong environmental beliefs. We believe in treating each other and the environment with care and respect. We believe our experienced staff and Aveda’s ethical point of difference set us apart. The salon is designed to appeal to those who appreciate quality, integrity and professionalism.” says Sally Adams.

Independent and totally owned by Sally and Adam, the salon is an Aveda Lifestyle Salon; although its look is a matter for the owners, to harmonise with Aveda’s ethos, it shares a sense of the brand’s Ayurvedic tranquillity.

The whole budget for the makeover costs £50k, with a total of 14 styling units over 1,800 sq ft, four separate fulling reclining luxury backwash stations, and full range Aveda product retail area, designed by Adam and Sally in collaboration with Richard Evetts at Reis Design.
