Tuesday, 19 December 2017 15:14
B Peluqueros, a chain of prestige hair salons in Spain, has opened a new branch in Zaragoza... without a single mirror in sight! How have they done that without all their clients fleeing in horror? Read on and find out!

It goes without saying that their clients are by no means left completely in the dark – quite the opposite.  Images are projected onto large plasma screens which are able to offer a  perfect view,  even into those tricky corners that would be precluded my mirrors.

How does it work?

Throughout the appointment the stylist can project images of every detail onto 50-inch screens by way of a mobile device, to the client can enjoy a on-going, detailed view of the progress of the cut and style process. José Manuel Casao and Iván Moro conceived this original idea in the hope that it would give a new impetus to the world of on-salon hair and beauty treatments.

"We position fixed smart phones under the screens so we can offer the same full-frontal image that you would see reflected in a mirror, but enlarged and improved in terms of quality" explains José. "Then, when the client asks to watch from a different angle, the hairdresser can the device to show the work in progress from every possible perspective. The customer can even take stills or record short videos, which can then be sent directly to their mobile device. With social media being such a prominent feature of many people's lives, this is proving extremely popular, especially amongst our younger clients.”
