The TIGI European Session Team 2018: Applications Now Open!

Friday, 24 November 2017 10:06

Want to work with backstage at LFW in 2018? TIGI European Session Director, Maria Kovacs, believes the skills learnt working on photographic sessions and backstage  are crucial to progression, refining and developing skills.

So every year, Maria selects 10 hairdressers to work with her backstage at London and Paris Fashion Weeks. The chosen hairdressers receive an exclusive two day training course at Bed Head studios in London, travel expenses and hotel costs up to the value of £750 covered by TIGI, a Session stylist kit and a TIGI collection book, signed by Anthony Mascolo.

Maria often quotes hair as being like “a fabric” that’s moulded into a shape, creating the desired feeling and ultimately the right look for an image, or supporting a fashion designer’s vision and theme for a collection. Seasonally, Maria runs the TIGI Session Course at the TIGI Academy where she interprets key trends into styling and textural ideas that can be used by the students to dress and style hair in the salon.
