As Chairman Jo will oversee the everyday running of The Fellowship ensuring that the membership benefits continue to be met both successfully and with continuity. Alongside Chairing Council meetings and Annual General Meetings, Jo will meet with Sponsors to maintain a strong and positive relationship while also maintaining their continued support.

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing aims to represent the top 10% of the hairdressing industry and is dedicated to promoting the best of British and International professional hairdressing. An independent and non-political organisation The Fellowship believes in life-long training and education for all their members and their staff.

With over 25 years’ experience within the industry Jo Martin was sworn in as the Chairman in May 2016. After 6 years working as Northern Technical Consultant for Schwarzkopf, Jo undertook her role as Head of Global Education for GHD where she developed and led educational teams and event programs globally for over 11 years. Her career has now led her to start her own consultancy business where she assists industry professionals in their product launches and marketing choices.

Jo Martin said “I am so excited and very proud to become Chairman of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing. It was a great honour to be elected by Council and to be given the opportunity to represent such a prestigious organisation. I believe that we have a fantastic unique organisation and I am really looking forward to offering my industry experience, knowledge and passion in increasing the awareness and achieving its future vision and goals. Hellen Ward has been an incredible Chairman and I have big shoes to fill but with the support of the Council and Events Committee, along with the HQ Team, I am confident we will continue to grow!”
