Anthony Mascolo: Estetica and Fashion

After the huge success of the Estetica Master Parade, the International Creative Director of TIGI Anthony Mascolo reveals his ties with Milan and with Estetica.

 

Following Estetica Master Parade on 23 October as part of On Hair Milan Edition by Cosmoprof , the International Creative Director of TIGI Anthony Mascolo tells us about his relationship with Milan, the city here the event will be held, and his thoughts about the first 70 years of Estetica.

What is your relationship with Milan and with Italian fashion?

I have frequented Milan since I was a teenager. My brother Bruno sent me to get experience in the world of Italian hairdressing and I spent a short time with Aldo Coppola. During that period I also worked with some photo shoots, even for Vogue Italia. Over the years I have visited the city many time and now, in Milan, there is even a TIGI Academy: so our link is even stronger.

Your favourite fashion designer?

Italian fashion has always fascinated me. It is impossible not to be inspired by stylists like Versace, Prada, and Gucci, and the same can be said for many emerging designers. The important Italian fashion houses are certainly hotbeds for many international trends and a source of inspiration for many new stylists. And naturally, I have some incredible pieces by Prada and Gucci hanging in my closet.

Your thoughts about Estetica and our first 70 years…

Since the first days when my father was a hairdresser in Italy (at the end of the 1940s and ‘50s) until the development of our company, Estetica has always been a showcase for our work. We are proud to have bene part of its prestigious image and reliable information. We are interpreters of fashion and “creators of coiffure”, and Estetica illustrates this ethos to perfection.
