Meet the new ClubStar Art Team Project Leader Simon Tuckwell

Monday, 26 December 2016 10:42

Past F.A.M.E. Team member Simon Tuckwell is looking forward to a busy 2017 and 2018 as he undertakes the task of inspiring the next generation of hairdressing.

He will organise and coordinate the mentoring and education for The ClubStar Art Team, ensuring that everyone gets the most out of this incredible opportunity. We caught up with Simon to get to know him a little bit better…

What is your new role in the Fellowship?
This year I was incredibly honoured to be asked to lead the Clubstar Art Team and it is  a role I cannot wait to undertake. I personally began my journey with The Fellowship over 7 years ago by joining ClubStar as a member so this is my chance to give something back to the young hairdressers of our industry

What is your industry background ?
I started my training in London in 2003 and after years of working for a few prestigious salons, I decided to move up to Nottingham. I am now part of the award winning team at Zullo & Holland and the Angelo Vallillo Academy. I can honestly say I have loved hairdressing since the moment I walked into a salon and now it is my turn to pass on that passion and enthusiasm.

What does being part of The Fellowship mean to me?
I wouldn't be where I am in my career without the Fellowship. I was part of The F.A.M.E Team in 2014 and it was the most incredible year of my life. I had three amazing mentors that year in Bruno Marc, Errol Douglas MBE and Andreas Stavrou who arranged some once in a lifetime days with industry greats and I am forever in their debt for what I gained. Being part of The Fellowship has been pivotal in me growing as a hairstylist and I now hope I can give as much as I can back over the next few years.

Tell us something people might now know about you?
I'm a bit of a party animal... but come to think of it, that may be common knowledge!

Who are The ClubStar Art Team for 2017?
Amy Burgess, Q Hair & Beauty
Clare Hatherill, Elizabeth and Giovanni's
Ellie Bond, Spargo Hairdressing
Evangeline Barratt, BLONDZ Hair
Joe Stoker, Dare Hair Design
Lois Negus, The Salon
