  • Meet The ClubStar South Project Leader 09 January 2017

    Your role in The Fellowship
I am The ClubStar South Project Leader, which this involves organising incredible industry mentors for events that are tailored to inspiring young hairdressers aged 16-25.

    What is your industry background
I studied hairdressing at college straight after finishing school and have since gone on to own a successful salon for the past 26 years; KJM Salons. I have been a member of The Colour Project Team, as well as being a Schwarzkopf Colour Master;  assisting at London Fashion weeks; and I have been nominated for Southern Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards three times. I am proud to say my team and I have just won Salon Team of the Year 2016 at the British Hairdressing Business Awards. I would also say I am an example that the learning process never stops and that there's always something new to find out.

What does being part of The Fellowship mean to you
Being in business on my own can sometimes be a challenge, for example employment laws or how other salons do things are areas that I always try to stay up to date on. The Fellowship is my extended family and I can go to them with any question or issue and they're give me solid unbiased advice and make me feel welcomed.  They also have so many events and people available to me that all of my, and my team's, training needs are always met.

Something many people don’t know about you
I was a gymnast when I was young and until very recently I could still do the splits. I can still do a handstand and a cartwheel though!
