Q Hair & Beauty Launches Latest New Salon

Friday, 31 March 2017 10:09

It was champagne and congratulations all round when Q Hair and Beauty celebrated the launch of its new salon in the beautiful town of Midhurst in West Sussex. The salon opened to great acclaim and invited guests at the official launch were full of praise at what has been achieved.

For several years directors Anthony Barnes-Smith and Dawn Lawrence of Chichester’s premier salon, were thinking about branching out and replicating Q’s unique and enormously popular ethos in a nearby town. When Anthony and Dawn began looking around for a suitable location, they both fell in love with Midhurst and set about finding the right premises. The answer came in the shape of the elegant building on the corner of West Street and work on fitting it out in stunning style began last December. The building has been given a top-to-toe makeover, including any existing interesting features but skilfully blending the old with the new to create a state-of-the-art hair and beauty salon as impressive as its Chichester counterpart. The impressive transformation reflects the Q philosophy of making the most of the latest green technology while recycling original materials and features where possible and retaining the original character of the premises.

“We look on all our clients in Chichester as our guests and we have replicated that friendly but highly-professional atmosphere in Midhurst,” explained Dawn. “We know that for our guests at Q, their visit is not just about the superb services we provide but also an emotional experience of coming into a beautiful old building and receiving the warmest of welcomes. The same philosophy applies in the new Midhurst salon. We have given it a similar atmosphere, with a natural organic touch in line with our ‘green’ policy, creating a place that’s elegant but homely and perfect for a relaxing visit. Traditional but light, bright and comfortable.”

The salon on West Street has been adapted to incorporate a ladies’ salon with eight work positions for stylists at the front, a barber’s area with four to six work stations and a beauty room at the back. “Basically we have gutted the premises and started again, but keeping features like the old chimney breast, Yorkstone thresholds and original flooring,” said Dawn. “As soon as we walked into the building we could see its potential and knew it was right for us.

Among the guests who enjoyed the grand launch was Melanie Burgoyne, the rural towns co-ordinator. "The arrival of Q in Midhurst is very welcome," Melanie said. "It is great to see a very forward-thinking business like this coming to the town and wanting to get involved with the local community right from the start."
