Talented New Additions to Great Lengths' Education Team

Monday, 18 February 2019 10:13
Great Lengths, global brand leader in hair extensions, is delighted to announce 3 new educational education team members for 2019: Raphelle St. Marshall from The Matthew Curtis Group in London, Kirby Hickey from Hair by Kirby Blythe in Scunthorpe and Aileen Barnby from Eternal Flair  in Co.Kildare, Eire.

They will help train and provide ongoing support for current Great Lengths stylists and also the next generation of stylists to be certified by the globally renowned extensions brand synonymous with 100% human hair which is ethically sourced.

Raphelle Saint Marshall became a certified Great Lengths extensionist over five years ago and has continued to collaborate and work closely with the brand. “I was always amazed at how good Great Lengths extensions were and that they never damaged the hair whilst looking so natural,” explained Raphelle when asked why she eager to join the team and become a Great Lengths educator. “When I qualified in hairdressing, the Great Lengths Foundation course was the first I wanted to go on.  After training and then using Great Lengths on Britain’s Next Top Model, they stood the test of time on shoots. I wanted to bring my passion and enthusiasm to salons across the UK and help spread the Great Lengths message.  It’s so important for Great Lengths to keep their brilliant reputation and I feel that being an educator can help with this.”

Kirby Hickey gained recognition from Great Lengths in 2016 winning two awards at the UK Great Lengths Awards.  Following these accolades Kirby assisted Great Lengths on a number of campaign shoots including the most recent 100% You collection and 2018 Bridal shoot and has recently used her expertise on a bridal shoot for Vogue. When asked what her most memorable moment in her career to date, Kirby commented:  “There have been many along the way, opening my own salon at the age of 22, being part of national campaign shoots, stage work for for global brands, working alongside my hair heroes. Becoming part of the Great Lengths team as a National educator has been a dream come true and I feel very honoured to be involved.”

Aileen Barnby trained with Great Lengths in 2012 with hair extensions becoming a huge success in her salon within the first 6 months of training. “I am so excited and looking forward to starting my educator role and I can’t wait to train other stylists,” explains Aileen.  “Since my training six years ago, I feel as though I have fallen in love with the brand all over again”.

“Introducing Raphelle, Kirby and Aileen to our team is really exciting for everyone at Great Lengths,”  adds Education and Creative Manager, Louise Jenkins. “As a brand, we place education at the forefront of what we do and expanding the team allows us to concentrate on being able to offer the best support, advise and training to all of our stylists nationally. The new educators bring a wealth of experience to the table combined with a real understanding of salon life and super creative thinking from session experiences. I can confidently say that anyone who finds these ladies as their Great lengths educators this year will be sure to come away from their training feeling inspired and motivated!”
