Infinite fantasy, innovation and scientific research are the core elements in the creative work of X-presion, whose artistic work goes beyond simple hair collections and becomes true works of art.
X-presion was founded in 2005 from the desire of Marco Antonio Restrepo, Jorge Cáncer and Jose Luis Almendral, three young men from Madrid, to contribute something new to the world of hairdressing..
Each of the group's projects goes beyond hair styling, but becomes a multi-level creative experience , involving music, video, costumes and photography.
There are already more than 20 techniques created by X-presion, including Disruptive Color, Braille Color, #xpresionthread, Super Mario Pixel Art, and of course the revolutionary #xpresionpixel, a colouring process that saw new chromatic dimensions by creating a pixelated effect on the hair that changes with the movement of the hair. Pixel hair has been a huge hit on social media and has so far experienced over 150 million impressions over Instagram, Facebook and other platforms.
In 2010 X-presion was the youngest-ever team to be awarded the AIPP Grand Trophy, the most prestigious award in hairdressing industry. The team's photographic work also won the New York Photo Award and the Spanish National Photo Award. With more than 70 magazine covers to date, X-presion has also performed on many of the most prestigious stages internationally, such as Salon International London, International Hairdressing Awards, Tribu-te Show London, Salon International China, Top Hair Dusserldorf, Hair Brazil, Salón Look Madrid and MCB Paris.
The leitmotiv of X-presion? Inventing creative techniques that can bring value to the world of hair, from the business point of view and above all through education. The Spanish trio believes in the need for continuous training for the development of professional skills and creativity.
X-presion will be protagonists at On Hair Show & Exhibition by Cosmoprof. The show will also feature 3 other international master stylists: Dmitry Vinokurov, Tom Connell with the Trevor Sorbie Art Team and Errol Douglas.
