A Year in Fellowship Opportunities

Monday, 16 December 2019 15:12

As we come to the end of 2019, we’re looking back at an incredible year of opportunities that have formed part of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing calendar.

When it comes to live shows, there’s been no shortage of opportunities for our members to take to the stage and showcase their skills – from stage shows at HJ Live, Pro Hair Live and Salon International to the numerous Fellowship events held up and down the country; Hair & Vision, Members’ Night and Colour Night. Our workshops also allowed hairdressers to learn from the experts, with intimate masterclasses in men’s hair, presentation skills, business, Afro hair, long hair and hair health. There was also plenty of opportunity for our Fellowship teams to present what they’d learnt on stage, at our ClubStar Art Team Presents evening, the Colour Project and Project X Finale evening and, of course, at President’s Night, where all of our teams had the chance to showcase their skills.

For our education teams, there was no shortage of opportunities either. Project X, the Colour Project, ClubStar Art Team, the Barber Project and the F.A.M.E. Team all enjoyed a year of mentoring, from some of the biggest names in the industry – from Angelo Seminara and Sassoon to Jack Howard and Not Another Salon. For the F.A.M.E. Team, there was also a chance to shine on stage at Hair Expo in Australia, see their work in print in fashion industry bible, Hunger, and shoot with Rankin.

On top of that, our Sassoon Scholarship winner, Niamh Morris, enjoyed four separate weeks of training at their London Academy, supported by Denman for an invaluable introduction to the Sassoon way of cutting and colouring. The Christopher Mann Step Up and SHINE Scholarship, run in conjunction with the NHBF, also gave Amanda Linehan the chance to enhance her experience and education with a bespoke education package worth £2,500.

2020 looks set to be another bumper year for the Fellowship with even more opportunities for exposure and education for members – bring it on!
