The LWPR Lovelies

As a salon it’s hard to navigate social media right now. Rest assured LWPR are here to support you and we’ve put together a few pointers to help during this unprecedented time.

1. Acknowledge the situation

We know it isn’t business as normal because nothing about the current situation is at all normal so use this time to share how you are dealing with it and adapting, any initiatives you are taking, any inspiration you are seeing and share it.

2. Create content that your followers will love

Just because clients can’t come into your salon it doesn’t mean you can’t help them. Think about how you can provide valuable advice for your community in the current climate. Why not start providing online consultations or share tutorials e.g. You could provide advice about how clients can care for their hair at home, how to disguise roots or how to blow dry at home.

3. Engage with your followers in ways that aren’t too sales heavy

Make your content personable.  Use your stories to ask questions and go live to have conversations and Q & A’s. If you have senior members of the team who don’t usually feature on your social media, give them a shout! Your clients will love to see all of your faces!

4. Try and gather as much user generated content as possible

Why not ask your clients for reviews and testimonials that you can use in your content?  Now is the time to build and maintain trust and you can do this by showing how amazing your clients think you are.

5. Use this time to try new things on social

If for example you haven’t posted an IGTV before, learn how to and get cracking. Could you be providing advice about which products to use, detailing why you like them and how it can help your clients hair and sell remotely?

6. Use social media to find people to collaborate with

More than ever find ways to be helpful to your clients and community.  Are there like minded brands and local businesses out there you could collaborate with to reinforce a supportive community spirit?

7. Check what you have scheduled – grid wise and advert wise

Adjust your language and tone of voice to fit the current situation and check all content with a coronavirus lens.

8. Don’t be disheartened if you see your engagement levels drop

Naturally we are going to see more people posting on social media so we might see a dip in our levels of engagement.

9. Be yourself, be relatable and be realistic

If its relevant post a statement from your salon telling your followers what measures and actions you are putting in place and reassure them.

10. Keep showing up and posting consistently

Now is not the time to go quiet.  Don’t feel ashamed to keep “working” and selling.  Let’s face it we are all going to be spending a lot more time online over the next few months so don’t see self-promotion as a negative. There is no reason why you need to stop. Let’s all try and stay present, active and positive.

The girls are just a call away for any help, content advice and even just a chat during these uncertain times
