Autumn/WInter Hair Trends by TONI&GUY

Tuesday, 31 October 2017 10:50

A twisted chignon; soft, elegant texture; wet-look imperfection: 3 emerging trends that were launched on the AW17 catwalks are proving to be a dead cert for the up-and-coming season.

Directly from the runways of London Fashion Week, TONI&GUY brings you these 3 mega-trends.  While waves are becoming ever more voluminous and elegant,  the chignon takes on a brand new sparkle, thanks to an undone finish. Wetter than ever is the wet-look!

Luxury Curls

Fully textured, soft and elegant curls define the keynote on the Christian Dior, Julian MacDonald and Sharon Wauchob's runways.  Meanwhile, at the House of Holland show the TONI&GUY Artistic Team headed up by Cos Sakkas created massive waves inspired by American country singer, Dolly Parton. For the Pam Hogg show, luxurious curls bring to mind the allure of 50s pin-up girls and forces sweethearts.

Lived-In Top Knots

For the shows by Simone Rocha, Hussein Chalayan, Xiao Li and Ashley Isham, the top-knot reigned supreme.  Evolving from an elegant chignon, this was then loosened to create an undone effect. The looks for Xiao Li and Hussein Chavalan's were uber-dishevelled, while the looks of Ashley Isham and Simone Rocha were more experimental and featured not one, but three knots.

Wet Imperfect Kiss Curls

The front row went wild for the wet-look at the shows by Christopher Kane, Phoebe English, Annderstand and not forgetting the fabulously innovative Ones to Watch collections. Slick kiss curls are certain to be trending as a classic touch of indulgence in the coming months.. A well-defined parting adds a feature of strength and androgyny, while the waves bestow that contrasting touch of femininity to the look.
