Aveda recently challenged its artists to showcase the true beauty of the brand’s vegan colour range by taking part in a social media photography contest, in which stylists were invited to choose their best 2020 colour work and showcase it alongside an image of a plant or flower that encapsulates the look.

All entries were submitted on Instagram using #AvedaVeganColourUK resulting in a stunning gallery of inspirational colour looks. The entries were then judged by a panel of industry media pros, following which four finalists were announced on the 1st February 2021.

   The 4 finalists were: @abigailmxlton_, @avedatotnes, @chrisblackaveda, @maryhandyhair (see gallery below)

“As we navigate another national lockdown, we wanted to inspire our Aveda artists to get creative and showcase their incredible colour work, using Aveda’s 100% vegan hair colour," commented Hayley Hughes, National Education Manager for Aveda. “While salons are closed, we thought this was a great way for stylists to post some positive, inspiring content as well as connecting with others in the industry. The images submitted have been phenomenal and we have been blown away by the incredible talent of our Aveda artists.”

The winning image, announced on 9th February on @AvedaUKPro IGTV, was created by Chris Black from Edward James London (above). Chris has won a personal, one hour mentoring session with an Aveda Global Artistic Team member of his choice.
