Backstage at LFW for TONI&GUY's Breakthrough Team

Friday, 21 February 2014 11:05

Under the direction of International Artistic Director Silje Vincent, the TONI&GUY Breakthrough Team worked backstage at London Fashion Week using label.m Professional Haircare products, official haircare sponsor of the event.

The Breakthrough Team is a nationwide search in association with L’Oréal Professionnel, to discover some of our industry's most talented hairdressers for the chance to be selected for a year’s mentoring programme. The team worked backstage at the FAD show.

Fashion Awareness District (FAD) is a creative awareness charity supporting young people to bridge the gap between education and the fashion industry. 15 finalists have been selected from hundreds of undergraduate entries across the UK.  Working together, both the TONI&GUY Breakthrough Team and the FAD finalists have the opportunity to push their boundaries and take their talent to the next level.

Dexter Johnson, TONI&GUY Breakthrough Team member 2014 commented:  “Being part of the Breakthrough Team means I have the chance to work with a very talented group of individuals who are creative and driven by their passion. We are in the privileged position of working backstage at London Fashion Week led by an ex- Breakthrough Team member, Silje Vincent. The look we are creating at FAD is a disciplined style with a sleek finish and tamed texture.”

Silje Vincent, TONI&GUY International Artistic Director added:  “Giving up-and-coming hairdressing stars of the future the opportunity to take part at London Fashion Week is key to what TONI&GUY and its education programme is all about. Opportunities like this enable people’s passions and creativity to take centre stage.”
